Summary :
As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in our lab team, performing tasks related to specimen collection and management. Your contribution will ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities :

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, restocking supplies as needed.
- Procure departmental supplies in collaboration with your team lead.
- Carry out essential phlebotomy tasks, including specimen collection and processing.
- Prepare specimens for referral to external laboratories, handling all necessary paperwork and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with specimen collection requirements and maintain the integrity of all samples.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Utilize the laboratory computer system for documentation and order management.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, including on-call duties and cross-training.
- Complete performance evaluations and competency assessments on schedule.
Job Requirements :
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred.Completion of a phlebotomy or related medical program preferred.Proficient in medical terminology, data entry, and organization.Experience :
At least one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or state licensure required if in Louisiana.All associates must obtain the necessary certifications for their roles within the designated timeframe to comply with CHRISTUS Health policies.
