Overview

The Accommodation Services Coordinator coordinates academic accommodations for students with disabilities through Everett Community College's Center for Disability Services (CDS). This position conducts intake interviews, determines accommodations, facilitates their implementation, and ensures accurate recordkeeping in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Duties & Responsibilities

Disability Accommodations

  • Conduct intake interviews to assess student needs and determine appropriate academic accommodations
  • Interpret disability documentation and apply federal, state, and College guidelines to support accommodation decisions
  • Serve as the primary liaison to assigned students for accommodation-related matters, including follow-up communication and problem resolution
  • Coordinate with faculty, staff, and relevant departments to ensure the timely implementation of approved accommodations
  • Provide information to faculty and staff regarding instructional modifications and accessibility requirements
  • Maintain confidential records of student interactions and accommodation determinations in accordance with FERPA and institutional policy

Process Compliance

  • Monitor and update accommodation records and supporting documentation in approved systems
  • Utilize and suggest updates to internal process guides, forms, and templates to support consistent and compliant service delivery
  • Track and document service data used to inform planning and identify trends in accommodation usage or unmet needs
  • Support compliance with institutional, state, and federal policies through routine review and documentation of processes and procedures
  • Program Support

  • Collaborate with CDS staff to support the delivery of disability accommodations, including assistive technology, alternate format materials, testing accommodations, and other services
  • Assist with documenting procedures, maintaining tracking systems, and logging service requests
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions to coordinate service delivery and strengthen office-wide practices
  • Contribute to program outreach and educational efforts by supporting the development of content, resources, and events related to disability access
  • Collaborate on website updates and promotional materials that enhance student and campus awareness of available services
  • General Duties

  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and process improvement efforts
  • Assist with department-wide projects and initiatives to support the broader mission of the Center for Disability Services
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including rotating front desk coverage to support departmental operations and meet the needs of the campus
  • Provide support to other staff and department functions during absences, events, and peak service periods
  • Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and service-oriented environment across all interactions
  • Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience :

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field, such as education, human services, or psychology (or equivalent experience)
  • One (1) year of experience involving coordination, consultation, or support for individuals with disabilities
  • Required Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of disability-related laws and guidelines
  • Ability to interpret medical and psychological documentation
  • Skilled in conducting interviews
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace), particularly spreadsheets and shared documentation tools
  • Preferred

  • Experience working in a college disability services office
  • Familiarity with accommodation management systems and assistive technology

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Overtime eligible - FLSA non-exempt
  • Position is subject to Everett Community College policies and procedures
  • Represented by Washington Federation of State Employees Union
  • Performance will be evaluated after a six (6) month probationary period and annually
