Senior Business Systems Analyst
Join one of the nation's most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine. This position will be primarily onsite with some opportunities for remote work. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
In this vital role, you will act as the primary liaison between our clinical stakeholders (physicians, nurses, technicians, researchers, and administrators) and our technical teams. You will be responsible for analyzing complex clinical workflows, gathering requirements, and translating them into functional system specifications to optimize our clinical information systems. The Analyst will provide advanced (Tier 3) support for complex issues related to clinical applications, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating with vendors or internal teams for resolution.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of healthcare clinical systems and their environments, a passion for problem-solving, and a proven track record of leading system implementations and improvement projects from conception to completion.
Essential Job Functions
- Elicit, analyze, and document complex clinical and business requirements
- Devises plan and procedures to solve complex business problems given constraints
- Revising existing (problematic) system logic or workflow
- Evaluate clinical business implications of technology on the current environment
- Mentors less experienced Business System Analysts
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant certification in healthcare, business management or information systemsMinimal of four (4) years' experience with information system software solutionsStrong understanding of clinical processes and workflowProven skills in troubleshooting, problem solving, and solution developmentExperience with multiple clinical software applications, systems analysis / design, Integration / design, clinical workflow / design, and business process / designDevelop system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other visual representations to communicate system designs and functionalitiesSolid skills in documenting and analyzing business processesSolid understanding of underlying technologies : networking, medical devices, integration, EMR, server (on-premises and cloud), database, and storageMust be able to prioritize, organize, and assess work in order to meet aggressive deadlines and to cope in a fast-paced environmentCapable of working well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization, including remote teamsMust have issue tracking and resolution skillsExcellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and effective presentation skillsExperience developing presentations for project workAbility to plan and facilitate meetings with internal and external participantsAbility to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situationsPosition Details
