Where Dreams and Opportunities Align! Join our team as a Lead Direct Support Professional at our In-Home program in the Twin Cities.

Location : Metro Area (you will be required to work in all these cities) : Golden Valley, Waconia, Champlin, Andover, New Hope, Brooklynn Park, Brooklynn Center, New Brighton, St Paul, Columbia Heights, Watertown, Maple Grove, Spring Lake Park, Plymouth, Chaska, Mound, Fridley, Apple Valley, Blaine, East Bethel, Rosemont, Ramsey Wage : $20 an hour Schedule : 4 days a week between 6 am to 10 PM and every other weekend between 6 am to 10 PM.

The schedule will be made one week in advance and will vary week to week based on program needs. This position will primarily provide in home services to multiple persons served, and will be cross trained at our day program 1 other residential program based as well.

Duties : This position will be responsible for 40 hours direct care per week. In addition to direct care, this position will also assist training new staff, coverage during management absence, and help with emergency client situations.

Overall Summary We’re looking for a caring and experienced direct support professional to work with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, medical needs and mental health diagnosis that may work at a variety of group homes in the Twin Cities.

As a lead direct support professional, you will be a part of helping people work on outcomes / goals to gain independence and lifelong skills.

Our ideal candidate must have experience working with intellectual disabilities, experience with person centered programming and experience with verbal and physical aggression. Responsibilities

• Work on tailored outcomes with each person we support. Outcomes may include : budgeting, behavioral management, community exploration, meal planning, organizational skills, coping skills, and / or physical fitness.
• Be an active participant with individuals served when working on outcomes and out in the community.
• Assist with personal cares as needed per person served
• Provide guidance and instructional teaching to persons while building life skills.
• Provide cleaning, cooking to the people living at the home
• Provide supervision and transportation in the community on activities using personal vehicle.
• Be willing to go into persons homes, in the community or the other places as the need arises.

Requirements

• To be at least 18 years of age for adult person served, 21 for minor person served individuals
• Have a vehicle with current car insurance
• Have an acceptable driving record as determined by Meridian Services policy.
• Successful clearance from a DHS background Study
• Ability to complete personal cares
• Ability to learn working with intellectual disabilities.
• Ability to learn working with person centered programming.
