The Account Manager (Outside Sales) is a front-line sales professional responsible for generating new business and expanding market presence through proactive outreach, in-person relationship building, and consultative selling. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, engaging decision-makers, and presenting tailored print, mail, and design solutions that drive measurable value for clients.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development & Sales Growth
- Proactively prospect for new clients through sales best practices including, cold calling, industry events, and networking.
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of qualified leads across target industries and geographic territories.
- Conduct face-to-face discovery meetings to understand client needs, challenges, and objectives.
- Confidently overcome objections, negotiate terms, and close new business to meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue goals.
- Maintain ownership of the sales process from initial contact through signed agreement and job setup.
- Track and report activity, conversion rates, and revenue in the CRM system.
Account Management & Customer Retention
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring seamless communication and project execution.Provide professional, timely responses to inquiries, quotes, and project updates.Build strong, long-term client relationships to promote repeat business and referrals.Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities for additional services.Communicate proactively with customers regarding timelines, production updates, and changes.Collaborate closely with internal teams to resolve issues promptly and ensure high client satisfaction.Quoting, Order Setup & Project Coordination
Prepare accurate and competitive quotes using QuickBooks and set up jobs in the system.Confirm job details, pricing, and specifications before submission to production.Ensure all client materials and data are received on time to meet production schedules.Track project milestones, verify accuracy at each stage, and manage invoicing and payment follow-ups.Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business, Marketing, or Communications (Bachelor’s preferred).2–4 years of outside sales or business development experience.Proven success in cold calling, prospecting, and closing new business.Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented with a competitive, results-driven mindset.Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish) is a big plus.Plus commissions
