Associate Director, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting - BioTech
We are seeking an Associate Director to support technical accounting and external reporting functions. This role will be responsible for analyzing complex accounting issues, preparing technical accounting memos, and ensuring compliance with evolving financial reporting standards. This is a hybrid position based in the Boston area (3 days onsite) and offered as a 6-month contract, with compensation ranging from $85–$90 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical accounting research and prepare detailed position papers on complex topics, including :
Revenue recognition
Collaboration arrangementsConsolidation and variable interest entities (VIEs)Business combinations and asset acquisitionsGoodwill and intangible asset valuation and impairmentDevelop, maintain, and oversee the company's accounting policies and related documentation.Partner with Business Development to assess and document accounting and financial reporting implications for new transactions and strategic initiatives.Monitor emerging accounting standards and regulatory updates; prepare executive summaries and implementation plans.Lead cross-functional efforts to implement new accounting standards and related reporting changes.Serve as a key liaison with internal and external auditors on complex accounting matters.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members on accounting issues and analytical problem-solving.Support ad hoc projects and special initiatives as assigned.Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting (required)CPA (required)8+ years of progressing accounting / reporting experience, ideally within a Big 4 public accounting firm and / or public company setting.In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.Demonstrated experience applying new accounting standards.For immediate consideration, please email your resume to Lydia at Lsinger@daleyaa.com.
