About the Role :

The  Special Projects Group  of KPFF is growing and looking for an ambitious and initiative-driven  Design-Build Deputy Design Manager  to strengthen our dynamic team in  Seattle or Tacoma, WA . You will be working on a diverse range of complex fish passage, roadway and transportation improvements on design-build projects. As a key member of our team, you'll use your existing expertise in design build, but also dive deep into the realms of project management and delivering unparalleled client service. What You’ll Be Doing :

Design Build and Development :

• Support the Design Manager to coordinate with all complimentary disciplines (roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, public involvement and environmental), technical preparation and supervision of roadway and transit design tasks including quality reviews.
• Support the management of the project, scope, schedule, design, and quality.
• Review plans, prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents and estimates.
• Lead, develop and review post design construction related tasks including; NDCs, FDCs, RFIs, PCO’s and manage design risk through construction.
• Assure the project team complies with the contract agreement as well as exercises rigid cost control to implement the approved design within established budget restraints
• Learn to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies to contribute to project success.
• Enhance your skills in identifying and overcoming challenges through innovative problem-solving approaches, utilizing both traditional and modern engineering techniques.

Compensation :

The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate with 8+ years of experience is $135,000-$175,000. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center. During the interview process, we'll provide detailed information and address any questions you may have about the overall compensation package and benefits.
