Purpose : To uphold 'The JEAR Way' and support JEAR's strategic direction. The Corporate Trainer is primarily responsible for organizing, facilitating, and delivering training programs for employees.

Essential Tasks

  • Positively exhibit and adhere to The JEAR Way’; Exceeding industry standards for work ethic and service, All for one, Together as one, Unmatched integrity and accountability.
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
  • Conduct new employee orientation for sales and support staff.
  • Confer with Training and Development Specialist to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  • Assess trainees to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands.
  • Supervise LETs in a training environment. Responsible for the overall directions, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Maintain trainee personnel records.
  • Assist LETs with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their position.
  • Make suggestions to Training and Development Specialist on improving work procedures on the sales floor.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations for future training initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by and other members of leadership team.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related area preferred

Knowledge

  • Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Communications and Media - Knowledge of media production and communication techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.

Experience

  • One to three years of similar or related experience within sales or the transportation industry.
  • Previous training experience preferred
