JOB PURPOSE
The SNAP Outreach Specialist supports The Just One Project's mission by connecting eligible individuals and families to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This position focuses exclusively on SNAP outreach, education, and enrollment, ensuring that clients understand and access the benefits available to them. The SNAP Outreach Specialist builds partnerships, conducts community outreach events, assists with SNAP applications, and maintains compliance with all state and federal guidelines under the supervision of the Supportive Services Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Outreach and Engagement
- Represent The Just One Project at community events, food distributions, and partner meetings to promote SNAP awareness and enrollment.
- Conduct outreach presentations, workshops, and one-on-one sessions to educate the community about SNAP benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, agencies, and local businesses to strengthen SNAP referral networks.
- Coordinate and maintain a schedule of outreach events, ensuring coverage, materials, and engagement metrics are tracked.
- Distribute SNAP materials, brochures, and applications in alignment with program branding and state requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Client Support and SNAP Application Assistance
Conduct client pre-screenings to assess SNAP eligibility and guide clients through the application process.Assist clients in completing SNAP applications, gathering required documentation, and submitting to DWSS for approval.Provide follow-up support to ensure applications are processed and clients receive updates from DWSS.Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with SNAP and DWSS guidelines in all client interactions.Accurately log all client interactions, referrals, and outcomes in Salesforce or other approved systems within required timeframes.Compliance, Reporting, and Data Management
Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, client data, and application outcomes in accordance with SNAP Outreach program standards.Track and compile data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to meet grant and state reporting deadlines.Assist the Supportive Services Manager in monitoring SNAP program compliance and implementing corrective actions as needed.Participate in program audits, trainings, and DWSS partner meetings as directed.Support evaluation efforts to assess outreach effectiveness and recommend process improvements.Internal Collaboration and Team Support
Work collaboratively with the Supportive Services Manager, Case Managers, and program staff to align outreach activities with organizational priorities.Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.Support other outreach initiatives as needed, provided they align with SNAP program guidelines.Contribute to a positive, mission-driven team culture that reflects The Just One Project's core values.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.Minimum 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, client services, or public assistance preferred.Experience with SNAP, DWSS, or other benefit programs strongly preferred.Knowledge of Clark County community resources and public assistance systems.Proficiency in data entry and documentation; Salesforce experience preferred.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

This is a full-time, exempt position, requiring approximately 40 hours per weekOccasional evenings or weekends may be required for events or program deliveryADDITIONAL INFORMATION
