Your Role : Uncommon Elementary School Teacher

As an Uncommon Elementary School Teacher , you will ignite a passion for learning in every student from day one. Our vibrant, culturally-responsive, and fast-paced learning environment fosters joy and engagement. Here, you will help cultivate core values of respect and hard work while celebrating the uniqueness of each student, laying the academic foundations that will carry them to and through college.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instruction

• Create an engaging and joyful classroom atmosphere that encourages mastery and empowers students to participate in academic discussions.
• Teach foundational mathematics principles.
• Develop students' literacy skills through reading and writing, focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Deliver an ELA curriculum that prioritizes meaningful and relevant texts.
• Introduce a Science curriculum that covers geology, astronomy, ecology, and environmental stewardship.
• Implement a Social Studies curriculum that explores America’s diverse histories, emphasizing cultural and civic awareness.

1-2 years of experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities preferred.

Compensation

The salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $64,700 . Starting pay is determined by various factors, including relevant full-time teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $50,000.
