Who we Need
MissionWise seeks an experienced Outreach & Events Manager who will be responsible for planning and executing events supporting military-connected students, alumni, and prospective students at Fordham University. This position will represent Fordham on campus and at military bases, community colleges, and other recruiting events. In this role, the Outreach & Events Manager will serve as a member of the Office of Military and Veterans' Services (OMVS).
Summary of Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events for prospective, current, and alumni military-connected students (e.g., orientation sessions, appreciation events, graduation celebrations, networking mixers)
- Support and collaborate on university-wide events highlighting veteran and military student contributions
- Manage event logistics including scheduling, vendor coordination, budgeting, and communication
- Track event participation and assess effectiveness to improve future programming
- Represent OMVS at Fordham's recruitment / informational events
- Act as lead representative for Fordham University and OMVS at military bases, community colleges, career fairs, and veteran-focused events to recruit prospective students
- Serve as strong liaison between OMVS and other Fordham recruiting offices, including admissions and ROTC
- Build and maintain strong relationships with military education offices, transition programs, and community partners
- In some cases, work evenings or weekends to meet the needs of our students
Requirements
Experience in event planning and outreachExperience planning and executing outreach initiatives for military-connected students and / or recruiting within higher educationFamiliarity with university admissions processesExperience collaborating with departmental and cross-functional colleagues in a range of university settingsExcellent Interpersonal skillsAble to make cold calls and initial visits to start and build positive relationshipsProficient skills and working knowledge of cloud-based and computer software systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and team communication applications.Ability to work some evenings and weekends as event schedules require (with comp time available)Ability to work in the U.S.Bachelor's degree requiredDirect connection to the military is strongly preferredSalary
US $80,000-$85,000Location
This is an on-campus role. Travel between Fordham’s Rose Hill and Lincoln campuses will be required. Additionally, travel to other locations connected to Fordham and to military-connected sites will be required.Why join MissionWise?
