POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Development Services is a trusted leader who ensures that all aspects of development, planning, permitting, and development code compliance advance the City's vision of improving the community through meaningful service. Serving as both a technical expert and a cultural leader, this position models integrity, collaboration, and ingenuity while guiding a multidisciplinary team. The Director not only manages regulatory processes but also shapes a service culture that builds trust with residents, businesses, and developers. This role requires balancing compliance with creativity, ensuring that every project advances the long-term wellbeing, consistency, and accountability expected of the City Manager's Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
EDUCATION, LICENSES, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
Ten (10) years of experience in planning and development
Minimum of three (5) years of supervisory experience.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is primarily sedentary, requiring an individual to sit at a desk for long periods of time, working on a computer.
Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, speak, hear, reach and see.
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
