Air Transportation Technician
This position is located in the Air Terminal Function Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, 153d Logistics Readiness Squadron, 153d Air Base Group, in the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153d Airlift Wing. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of Air Transportation functions necessary to manage the day-to-day operations including but not limited to, airdrop and airdrop inspections, rigging responsibilities, wing deployment training, passenger and cargo manifesting, Joint Inspection, load planning, determining cargo / passenger eligibility, establishing and maintaining air terminal security, directly responsible for safe and efficient loading / offloading of all DOD-owned and controlled aircraft and ensuring In-transit Visibility. Selectee would be required to attend formal schools, if they do not have the required certifications. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Air Cargo Specialist Supervisor.
Open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard members. Must submit vMPF Rip, DVR, or CDB with resume Must become a member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt. Must submit vMPF Rip / Data Verification Rip with application. Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation. An indefinite position may be converted to Perm if funding / position is available. Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit / Electronic Funds Transfer (DD / EFT). Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS). Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician. Recruitment / Relocation Incentives ARE NOT authorized. PCS costs are not authorized. Must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected. Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f). Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice.
