Location : Scottsdale, AZ (On-site)

Schedule : Full-Time | Monday – Friday

Compensation : $22.00 – $24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Reports To : Director, Revenue Cycle Management

About the Opportunity

A well-established healthcare organization in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist (A / R) to join our growing revenue cycle team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented billing professional who thrives in a fast-paced medical office setting and enjoys working collaboratively to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

As a key member of the billing department, you will handle physician billing, manage denials and appeals, process insurance claims, and maintain precise patient account records.

Key Responsibilities

• Process insurance and patient billing data accurately and efficiently.
• Review and resolve denied claims through resubmissions and appeals.
• Manage patient accounts and respond to billing-related inquiries.
• Interpret and act on Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) to resolve underpaid or denied claims.
• Handle incoming calls and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.
• Enter and verify patient demographic and insurance information with accuracy.
• Utilize payer portals, websites, and phone verification to confirm insurance eligibility.
• Work assigned billing reports and escalate any unresolved issues to the Revenue Cycle Director.
• Maintain current knowledge of payer requirements, HIPAA regulations, and company policies.
• Perform accurate charge entries, manage A / R financial classes (Private Pay, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, etc.), and ensure compliance with all billing procedures.
• Support the Revenue Cycle team with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
