POLICE OFFICER

Police Officer

Reporting to the Watch Commander, the duties of this position include maintaining a safe environment for the University community by way of patrol (foot and vehicular) of buildings, grounds, parking lots, off-campus facilities, and city streets within our jurisdiction.

Minimum Education and / or Work Experience :

• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of 400+ hours of police academy training from a State of IL certified program
• One year of related experience

Licenses :

State of Illinois certified firearms training

A current F.O.I.D. card and a valid driver's license

Qualifications :

Requires prior police experience in a recognized armed police department

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written

Must pass an extensive background investigation, drug screening, and psychological test

Computer Skills :

Basic computer skills

Ability to use basic business software

Ability to use law enforcement software
