Director of Finance
JOB SUMMARY :
The Director of Finance / Operations is responsible for providing financial expertise as a key business manager of the hotel, assisting all management levels in delivering high-quality hospitality services to customers worldwide. The role includes supporting the General Manager in achieving business goals, overseeing accounting and control functions, ensuring timely reporting of results, and maintaining the integrity of the management information system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supervise all accounting functions for the hotel and restaurants.
- Prepare financial statements according to the schedule, company policies, GAAP, and the Uniform System of Accounts.
- Analyze financial results to advise the General Manager.
- Maintain monthly balance sheet analysis with supporting details.
- Prepare forecasts and cash flow statements as needed.
- Ensure timely submission of sales, use, and occupancy tax returns, along with other external reports.
- Manage treasury cash functions per policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with management agreements and legal documents, understanding their financial implications.
- Maintain effective control procedures and ensure data processing integrity.
- Compile and submit accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, and analyze variances for improvements.
- Review management-prepared forecasts and budgets to set reasonable and achievable performance guidelines.
- Maintain legal, treasury, and tax documentation, ensuring statutory and fiscal compliance, including permits and licenses.
- Implement and maintain controls to protect assets against loss or misappropriation.
- Lead advisory roles, coaching department heads on financial responsibilities and management techniques.
- Adhere to high ethical standards, legal requirements, and business laws.
- Monitor economic, social, and governmental trends affecting hotel and restaurant performance.
SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Degree in accounting or business from an accredited institution.Minimum of 5 years of practical accounting experience in hospitality.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with accounting systems and financial software.Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.QUALIFICATIONS :
