Accounts Payable Clerk
Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Accounts Payable Clerk for the Crowne Plaza Kansas City Downtown in Kansas City, MO. The Accounting Clerk is primarily involved with the hotel's daily accounting functions to run actively and effectively. The areas of responsibility included are accounts receivable, daily reporting, and month end. Responsibilities include auditing daily cash drops, maintaining cash reconciliation, updating deposits in the Accounting System, providing support for night audits, monitoring invoices, replying to vendor inquiries, and reconciling account statements. The role also involves processing a high volume of invoices for payment, weekly check runs for the hotel, distributing checks by mail or delivery service, posting monthly brand reimbursements, verifying credit cards for upcoming groups / functions, and responding to all chargebacks. Additionally, the position requires processing direct bill applications, ensuring all direct bills are current and in good standing, submitting month end documentation according to financial close deadlines, assisting with compiling month end accruals, and maintaining a monthly A / P invoice list to verify all monthly invoices are entered.
Qualifications and Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards. This job requires the ability to perform the following : being well organized, detail oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to work independently; proficiency in the Microsoft suite with a strong emphasis on Excel; working knowledge of Oracle Netsuite and / or the ability to learn similar software quickly with limited training; willingness to learn new processes, best practices, and personal development; the ability to perform in a busy environment moving from task to task with little notice; being a team player, professional, and leading with integrity; the ability to read, write, and speak English with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal); and being engaged, authentic, and prepared to positively impact performance for a "best in class" hotel.
Other requirements include being passionate about people and service, strong communication skills when interacting with guests and employees, reading and writing abilities when completing paperwork, logging issues / complaints / requests / information updates, etc., basic math skills when handling cash or credit, and problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities. The ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and / or holidays is also essential.
