Home Infusion Therapy Nurse
This position will require frequent travel in and around the states of Arkansas and Mississippi.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Using clinical knowledge and expertise, the Home Infusion Therapy Nurse provides quality infusion therapy in the comfort, safety, and convenience of patient’s homes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1) Obtaining medical history, particularly as it relates to present condition, from patient and or family member(s).
2) Ensuring implementation of policies, protocols, and best practices.
3) Conducting physical examination of patient including, vital signs, mental status, and physical assessment.
4) Developing and implementing nursing care plan, collaborating with supervising physician.
5) Facilitate positive relations within teams and external parties and related services to
provide continuity of care.
6) Completes patient visit document and submits documentation according to documentation policy.
7) Monitors effectiveness of medication treatment, develop plan of care and provide education for patients and family members.
8) Assist in evaluating patients’ environment to determine what assistance will be available from family members / caregivers in caring for the patient.
10) Observe signs, symptoms, reactions to treatments, physical and emotional condition and report to physician.
11) Plan and coordinate patient care to ensure quality patient outcomes.
12) Travels as necessary as needed to provide home infusion therapy and is available to patients 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
13) Follows safety precautions. Follows necessary and pertinent safety precautions during performance of job duties, to prevent injury to self and / or to prevent damages to PTCOA Home Infusion Services equipment or property.
14) Evaluate patient’s home environment to determine what assistance will be available from family members in caring for patient.
15) Consult with Clinical Director for possible alterations of treatment plan.
16) Attends annual continuing education relating to pain pump therapy.
17) Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :
This position requires a current Registered Nurse License in the state of Arkansas, as well as completed training in home infusion.
One year of experience in home health environment. Must be current on CEU requirements, BLS and ACLS Certification.
