For decades, construction and field services contractors have had to run their businesses on outdated software : clunky, on-premise systems created in the 1980s and 1990s.

That’s where Miter comes in. We’re using AI and embedded payments to rebuild the core HR, finance, and operations systems that underpin our physical economy. Using Miter, contractors like Marathon Electrical, W.J. O’Neil, and Truebeck Construction are building stronger teams, controlling job costs, and accelerating jobsite execution.

This idea is resonating. Since we launched in 2022, we’ve grown to thousands of customers and tens of millions in ARR, making us one of the fastest growing vertical software companies ever. Hybrid vs. Remote Approach :

We believe the magic of Miter comes from working side by side. We also believe in work flexibility. For roles that are listed as hybrid, our approach is—three to four days a week in the office—giving us the chance to connect, brainstorm, and build stronger relationships. If you live within a reasonable commute to either our New York City or San Francisco offices, we ask that you work in our hybrid approach.

Otherwise, for roles listed as remote or in other cities where we don't have an office location, there is no requirement to work in our hybrid approach. We do travel a few times a year for onboarding, company wide, and team specific offsites!

About the Team & How We Work :

Miter’s Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering team partners with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to uncover complex customer needs, design tailored solutions, and guide prospects through technical validation. We’re deeply embedded in the deal process, from discovery to demo to proof-of-concept, making sure prospects see exactly how Miter can solve their toughest challenges.

We’re a small, high-impact team that moves fast, collaborates closely, and thrives in a space where every customer has unique workflows and technical puzzles to solve. Our approach is agile, our communication is constant, and we’re never afraid to roll up our sleeves to get a deal over the line.

What You’ll Do :

  • Partner with AEs to run deep technical discovery with complex prospects
  • Configure demo environments that reflect prospect‑specific workflows and integrations
  • Act as the technical expert during sales cycles, answering detailed questions about integrations, APIs, data flows, and product capabilities
  • Work with Product and Engineering to scope custom solutions or identify development needs
  • Build proof‑of‑concept deliverables and custom solutions that help win deals
  • Help refine our Pre‑Sales SE playbook to standardize technical support in the sales cycle and processes for knowledge transfer to our Launch team
  • What You’ll Need :

  • 2+ years in a customer‑facing technical role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, or implementation
  • Experience supporting mid‑market or enterprise clients through technical discovery and validation
  • Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and configuring custom demo environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex workflows and interpret technical documentationClear communicator with both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solutions‑focused mindset
  • Nice to have : Experience with construction Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), field operations, payroll, and / or accounting
