EPS Accounting And Service Center Support
Performing accounting functions involving invoicing, accounts receivable, reconciliation, reporting, business analysis, and process improvements for Service Centers. Responsible for the application of accounting knowledge to Service Center support including the preparation of a variety of detailed regular and special financial reports and statements. Work with Lab Manager, Principal Investigators, and Central Accounting on rate reviews and establishing new Service Centers. Assist with projects and reports, including conducting research through various sources in order to compile data for reports. Partial approver for equipment and supply purchases for Service Centers.
Performing accounting functions involving the recording, examination, analysis, and reporting of financial data for Accounts Payable and Deposits. Responsible for the application of accounting knowledge to accounting processes. Process transactions, review funding, reconcile records, and prepare statements and reports as requested. Troubleshoot payment issues with faculty and lab managers as needed. Ensure documents prepared by others in the department meet UT standards, approve them as needed and upload for imaging.
Review of purchase requests when contracts are needed. Collaborate with Senior Purchaser to ensure that Faculty, Labs, or Service Centers have sufficient funds, that purchases meet UT requirements and that best methods of procurement are being followed.
Review and approval of all entertainment forms including ensuring correct signatures and approval are on all forms. Routing for approval and processing reimbursements as needed. Assist with process or approvals of VP9s and VP7s as needed.
Responsible for the annual inventory process. Coordinate the annual process with EPS staff, faculty and researchers and communicate results to BSO and submit for approval to Central Accounting.
Maintain current knowledge of all of University processing and accounting support processes and procedures. Ensure all transactions are processed to meet applicable federal, state and university rules and processes, interpreting and ensuring compliance.
Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Familiarity with DEFINE. Planning and organizational skills. Familiarity with UT policies and procedures. Bachelor's degree and prior experience working in an academic unit.
$63,000 plus depending on qualifications.
May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity.
