A healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Oncologist to join their Hematology / Oncology team. This is a contract opportunity providing outpatient coverage, with a flexible schedule and potential for extension.
About the Opportunity :
- Location : Connecticut (multiple outpatient sites)
- Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm (flexible)
- Duration : 3+ months, with potential to extend
- Setting : Primarily outpatient, with possible inpatient component
- On-Call : Physicians - every 3rd weekend & 1 weekday; APPs - no call
- Coverage need due to provider leave
Responsibilities :
The Hem / Onc Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician will be responsible for :Managing oncology follow-up visitsPerforming chemotherapy teaching for patientsProviding emergent support to onsite infusion centersConducting in-office bone marrow biopsiesSupporting general oncology patient base (GI / GU focus preferred, generalists welcome)Qualifications :
Active Connecticut medical license (or ability to obtain quickly)2+ years of Hem / Onc or related clinical experience preferredGraduate degree (NP, PA, or MD / DO)Current NPI, DEA, and CDSStrong clinical judgment and procedural skillsExcellent communication and patient care skillsDesired Skills :
Prior experience with bone marrow biopsiesOncology / hematology subspecialty training or exposureAbility to adapt across outpatient and inpatient settings
