Insurance Analyst III

Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities : This is a highly responsible professional position that provides technical and administrative support by independently conducting research, analysis, and investigations of insurance industry business practices to determine compliance with the Florida Insurance Code, and by providing recommendations and regulatory solutions to management.
- Utilize an extensive knowledge of business practices and market regulation procedures to collect and compile data from market analysts and independently analyze and interpret complex data to support the Agency's regulatory initiatives.
- Utilize an extensive knowledge of business practices and market regulation procedures to conduct complex investigations, independently compile investigation reports, review cases for accuracy, and recommend solutions and corrective action plans to management. Independently draft legal consent orders and accurately calculate penalty recommendations, when required.
- Utilize market regulation procedures to independently and accurately maintain records of investigative materials.
- Independently monitor investigations from origination through final agency action. Assist management with coordinating administrative and evidentiary hearings related to agency action, including organizing and planning calendar events for other administrative functions. Assist and recommend solutions to management during settlement negotiations.
- Independently coordinate and accurately fulfill production of records in response to complex internal records requests and external requests for public records.
- Independently monitor complex legislative changes impacting the insurance industry and make recommendations to management regarding necessary updates to data analysis and investigation procedures. Communicate legislative and administrative developments to management and assist with training market regulation staff. Provide technical assistance to management on legislation, rulemaking, policies, and procedures.
- Aid with designing and implementing the program budget, strategic goals, and development of the market regulation quality plan.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following :

Employees of the Office of Insurance Regulation are paid on a monthly pay cycle. This is a non-remote on-site position located in Tallahassee, FL.
