Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Pain Management

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day 4x10-Hour (07 : 00 - 17 : 30) on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Guaranteed Hours : 40 per week

Experience : 2+ years, must be proficient in placing IVs, experience with moderate sedation, and exposure to radiation required

License : Pending license accepted (application must be submitted and received by licensing board to qualify for the 90-day license exemption)

Certifications : BLS, ACLS required

Must-Have : Epic experience required, first-timers accepted, accepts local candidates

Job Description :

• Responsible for patient intake, IV placement, and sedation administration during procedures as ordered by a physician
• Recovery and discharge of patients post-procedure
• Most procedures utilize X-ray; the RN will wear a lead vest and have a risk of radiation exposure
• Procedures commonly performed include epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency denervations, and joint and spinal region injections
• Utilize equipment including ultrasound machines, cryoablation machines, and radiofrequency machines
• Work with patients suffering from various pain-related diagnoses such as back pain, neck pain, neuropathic pain, headaches / migraines, cancer-related pain, and more
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Blocks schedule and travel from affiliate hospitals if necessary
• Training modules are completed pre-start
• Facility type : Short-Term Acute Care, Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma Center

Note : Flu vaccine status unknown, return staff policy applies, modules are recorded via transcripts.
