Together with our community, the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan creates opportunities for people to
connect, grow, and learn within an ever-changing Jewish landscape. The MMJCCM imagines Jewish life
that is diverse and engages meaningfully with its values, culture, and ideas in everyday lives.
The Center for Diverse Abilities (CDA) builds and nurtures an inclusive and accepting community where
individuals with disabilities and their families have opportunities to make meaningful connections to each other and
their community. We serve as a catalyst and leader, transforming the ways in which the community at large
understands and interacts with people with different abilities.
We offer neurodivergent individuals a place to socialize, learn, grow, and deepen their connections to one another
through one off and semester based programs. Our work provides participants multiple pathways to fostering their
independence, finding their passion, and experiencing the richness of community.
Ha Dereckh is a pre vocational program for neurodiverse teenagers, ages 14-21, who are paired with a neurotypical
peer mentor. The peer mentor supports the teen intern in their placement to help build social and vocational skills.
Placements are around the JCC building in various departments, such as Film, AV, Fitness Center and more. Interns
work directly with JCC staff who work in the corresponding departments.
The CDA is seeking a dynamic coordinator to join the team and oversee the internship program with a social work
intern and support from the Director of Youth Programming! Harnessing their passion for accessibility, inclusion,
community facing work, and the importance of prevocational programming for teenagers, the candidate will create a
fun, meaningful, and inclusive environment where all interns can develop essential job skills and thrive in their
internship placements with the proper support.
