Director, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, Development and Communications

Location : District of Columbia United States

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Director, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships is responsible for developing, growing, and stewarding new and current corporate and institutional foundation partnerships for Project HOPE. This position works closely with the VP, Corporation & Foundations and will also interact frequently with Global Health's program team, finance and legal.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of corporate and institutional foundation donors, strengthening partnerships and securing diverse fundingcash, gifts-in-kind, cause marketing, and sponsorshipsto advance global health, emergency response, and mission sustainability.
  • Understand the entire fundraising cycle from identifying targets by researching corporate and institutional foundation needs, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and providing stewardship.
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and institutional foundation partner accounts.
  • Develop relationships with senior management of prospective partners to communicate Project HOPE's value proposition and secure partnerships.
  • Collaborate with senior management on funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues internally to identify funding opportunities and develop proposals.
  • Develop strong relationships with colleagues in Global Health to identify funding opportunities and develop proposals.
  • Develop briefings, presentations, decks and customized collateral for prospective partners.
  • Support the VP with preparation of marketing activity reports, funding analysis, and presentations to executive management.
  • Develop and grow a portfolio of corporate and institutional foundation donor partners to solicit funding for Project HOPE's emergency disaster responses.
  • Contribute to and support a comprehensive Corporate & Foundation revenue growth strategic plan.
  • Maintain accurate contact information within Raisers Edge NXT, SharePoint and funder pipelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum bachelor's degree required and 8+ years' experience in an international non-profit fundraising environment with a demonstrated track record of fundraising success in building partnerships with institutional foundations and global corporations in a way that maximizes value for donor and recipient and builds profile with external audiences. Deep understanding of institutional philanthropy and corporate social impact trends. Exceptional relationship management and networking experience with forming and maintaining partnerships. Ability to effectively engage senior executives, board members, and program leaders. Experience developing and explaining the value proposition to institutional foundations and corporations to partner with a non-profit organization. Experience in raising 6-8 figure gifts and / or programmatic funding in new business development from corporate and / or foundations. Experience managing a dynamic portfolio of high-level prospects and key relationships in areas of international health. Field programming knowledge and / or experience in global health strongly preferred Established credibility within the foundation and corporate funding community; existing relationships are an asset but not required. Highly motivated, self-driven, result-oriented, and strategic thinker. Political savvy, organizational agility, perseverance. Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present to high level corporate decision makers. Ability to understand and meet funder requirements and organization policies. Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative and supportive member of a high-performance team. Ability to travel as needed, including internationally.

Work environment : Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level. Emergency deployments may be in resource-deprived environments with austere living conditions. Travel for extended periods may be by air and / or other modes of transportation. While international travel is not a regular part of every job, programmatic needs may require it intermittently. Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as "hardship."

Salary range starting at $95,000 per year based on candidates residing in the US. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
