Project Executive
Location : Houston, TX
Reports to : Operations Manager
Position Overview
The Project Executive serves as the senior leader responsible for the successful delivery of multiple large-scale electrical construction projects. This role provides strategic oversight to project managers and ensures that all projects meet or exceed expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance. The Project Executive plays a key role in preconstruction planning, client relations, and overall project execution, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client satisfaction from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction & Contract Oversight
- Review and interpret owner contracts to ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements.
- Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to develop cost-effective strategies and accurate project budgets.
- Lead constructability and value engineering reviews to optimize project design and performance.
- Oversee the preparation and negotiation of GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) or Lump Sum contracts.
Project Leadership & Execution
Direct the development of project schedules and comprehensive quality control programs.Identify and manage critical project milestones, potential risks, and opportunities.Ensure safety practices are fully integrated into project planning and daily operations.Review and approve project scopes, budgets, and cost forecasts in collaboration with internal teams.Financial & Risk Management
Monitor and forecast financial performance across multiple projects.Evaluate subcontractor qualifications, including financial capability and past performance.Conduct regular reviews of job cost reports and project metrics to ensure profitability and accountability.Oversee preparation of short-term “look-ahead” schedules to support proactive planning.Team Development & Client Relations
Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to project management teams.Foster a collaborative culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners.Ensure client expectations are met throughout the lifecycle of each project.Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.Experience : Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical construction management, preferably with a subcontractor.Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam; experience with scheduling, budgeting, and cost control software.Knowledge : Strong understanding of construction safety standards, project scheduling, cost management, and quality control processes.Soft Skills : Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and motivate teams.
