Job Summary :

The Assistant Controller will support the efforts and objectives of the Accounting Department and is responsible for performing a range of accounting and bookkeeping support functions and other general clerical tasks as needed. This is a Full-time position expected to work 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

  • Sales tax filing
  • Prepare, update and verify accounting journals, ledgers and other financial records
  • Assist in month end reporting procedures
  • Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks
  • Liaise with other departments / customers / vendors
  • Operate various standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines

Requirements :

Qualifications, Education & Experience :

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Accounting work experience in similar capacity required
  • Accounting software experience required
  • MS Office knowledge required; Excel proficiency preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, positive, professional team player who can also work well independently
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task while keeping great attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Pro-active and thorough in completing existing tasks and pursuing new assignments
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Travel :

  • No travel is expected for this position
