Rate : $55 - $60 / hour

MLL Teachers provide multilingual students with differentiated instruction through collaboration and co-teaching with general education, special education, and grade-level specialists and related service providers.

You Will :

• Plan and deliver exceptional instruction to multilingual learners based on E. L. Haynes' rigorous academic standards, curriculum framework, graduate profile, and student assessment data;
• Utilize best practices in second language acquisition for teaching MLL students in a co- taught or stand-alone classroom or small group;
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and individual teachers to differentiate and scaffold instruction based on students’ English proficiency levels;
• Provide supports and ensure students receive accommodations and modifications to the curriculum, lessons, and learning environment;
• Conduct formative and summative assessments of student performance;
• Collect and analyze data and student work samples to report on quarterly progress of language and content goals
• Ensure services and supports are in compliance with Washington, D.C. and federal laws and regulations;
• Work together with other teachers and specialists through our inclusive program to reach all students;
• Create a positive and supportive classroom culture and environment that puts relationships with students first;
• Engage parents and families in their students' success;
• Lead or co-lead a student advisory group to build community and for social, emotional, and academic support;
• Be an active member of the school community, attending and participating in school events outside of regular school hours, and completing other duties as assigned; and
• Own your learning through participation in ongoing instructional feedback cycles and individual and team professional development.
