Summary :

Our client, a global manufacturing leader, is seeking an Application Engineer for Business Development to support its Paper Coatings team. This entrepreneurial, customer-focused role will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing lab-based solutions that enable customers to bring innovative, sustainable packaging products to market.

The role combines technical expertise with customer engagement, delivering value through lab projects, product evaluations, and on-site technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct product evaluations, recommend raw materials, and manage equipment sourcing / setup for paper coatings applications.
• Partner with Business Development to address technical needs and advance innovation initiatives.
• Scale up new coating products, technologies, and tools from lab to market.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and research institutes to support development programs.
• Prepare lab reports, technical correspondence, and customer-ready documentation.
• Adapt and implement lab procedures from technical journals, communicating findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Operate and maintain standard lab equipment; troubleshoot complex issues.
• Support customer projects, technical service, and value-delivery initiatives across North America (travel ~30%).
