Schwab’s AI Strategy & Transformation team, known as AI.x, is the central hub for Artificial Intelligence at Schwab. We are an integrated product, engineering, strategy and risk team, all based in San Francisco. We help set the enterprise vision for AI, invest in the most promising opportunities, and accelerate delivery across the company. We also build the core platform that powers AI at scale and explore next-generation GenAI efforts that will redefine how we serve our clients.

As a Senior UX Designer on AI.x, you will play an essential role in advancing Schwab’s priorities by creating innovative and impactful user experiences for AI-driven solutions. As a Senior UX Designer, you will envision, design, and iterate advanced interfaces and experiences that elevate client engagement and deliver business value. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, researchers, and business leaders to align design efforts with Schwab’s enterprise strategy. You will participate in mentoring and sharing knowledge with junior team members, helping to build strong design practices and foster a culture of continuous learning. You will contribute to solving complex UX challenges, supporting design standards, and driving experimentation from concept to application. Above all, you will bring curiosity, creativity, and expertise to help propel the next generation of AI-powered experiences at Schwab.

What you’ll do

• Design for specific users and experiences while keeping in mind the holistic client experience as our GenAI offerings grow to reach more customers
• Collaborate closely with product and cross-functional partners to translate business and customer needs into an intuitive, welcoming, and impactful user experience
• Brainstorm, whiteboard, and creatively problem solve with cross-functional partners to develop innovative solutions to the brand-new challenges that GenAI poses
• Champion the user and adapt our plans and priorities in kind, following human-centered design principles and responding to data-driven insights
• Work closely with partners to ensure ADA compliance as well as build with broad accessibility in mind
• Translate complex and fledgling ideas into understandable concepts that respect constraints and evolve with the business and user needs
• Participate in model validation to ensure we maintain a rigorous standard of user experience
• Collaborate with product partners to distill MVPs and iterative deliverables from long-term product visions while ensuring a coherent user experience at every step
• Partner with product and engineering to prioritize and set the strategy for the development roadmap
