Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on multi‑discipline, large-scale projects (up to $400M). The ideal candidate has hands-on superintendent experience in higher education, healthcare, and core & shell construction, excels at schedule and quality control, and enforces best-in-class safety and contract compliance. This role will direct day‑to‑day onsite execution, coordinate subcontractors, manage client relationships, and deliver projects on time, on budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily field operations and supervision of subcontractors, craft personnel, and site safety teams on projects ranging up to $400M.
Develop and manage detailed short‑interval and master schedules; coordinate look‑ahead planning and resource loading.
Manage subcontractor performance, hold regular coordination meetings, and resolve conflicts to maintain schedule and quality
Ensure adherence to contract documents, drawings, and specifications; coordinate RFI / submittal review with PMs / engineers.
Monitor and control field costs; provide input to cost forecasting, change order documentation, and as‑built records.
Liaise with owners, facilities teams, and campus / hospital stakeholders to coordinate infection control, commissioning, and occupancy sequencing.
Required Qualifications
6+ years' field construction experience with at least 2 years as a Superintendent on commercial / institutional projects.
Demonstrated experience on higher education and healthcare projects and core & shell building envelopes.
Track record managing projects in the range of $50M-$400M (experience on $300M+ projects is a plus).
Proven ability to manage multiple trade partners and complex site phasing.
Proficient with construction scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project) and document management platforms (Procore preferred).
Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to represent the company with owners and design teams.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple job sites as required.
Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Formal construction degree, diploma, or certificate (preferred but not required).
OSHA 30 certification; OSHA 500 or equivalent trainer credentials a plus.
NCCCO certification (rigging / signal) or equivalent qualifications for heavy lift coordination.
Experience with infection control risk assessment (ICRA) and hospital phasing protocols.
LEED / AP experience or sustainable construction familiarity.
First Aid / CPR and site safety manager credentials.
