Packaging Machinery Uptime Lead
Imagine your shift begins with a quiet line and ends with a record-breaking run rate. That’s the impact you’ll have at Dr. Praeger’s, a family company created in 1994 by two heart surgeons determined to make simple, delicious frozen foods accessible to everyone. Discover our roots here : our history.
Your Mission
Own the first line of defense for automated equipment : set up, operate, change over, and swiftly troubleshoot to keep lines moving. You’ll handle minor fixes and consumable swaps, coordinate with mechanics on complex issues, and serve as the on-shift lead for communication and coaching. While deep repairs and planned maintenance are executed by mechanics, you’ll ensure basic issues are resolved quickly so production stays on track. You’ll also train new operators and partner with vendors during on-site service calls.
How You’ll Succeed
- Run the line : Configure and operate machines including Syntegon TTM’s and Elematics; execute rapid, clean changeovers.
- Respond fast : Diagnose minor faults; replace belts, sensors, and other consumables to protect throughput.
- See around corners : Perform quick inspections on running equipment to detect early wear or misalignment.
- Lead the floor : Be the senior point of contact; model safe, high-quality, efficient habits; liaise with supervisors, maintenance, and QA.
- Collaborate externally : Work with service techs / contractors during installations and troubleshooting.
- Document impeccably : Keep precise Redzone logs; record quality, safety, and maintenance concerns.
