We are seeking two experienced litigators with a background defending fleet operators or commercial clients against motor vehicle or truck accident claims. Our active practice is a high-energy and positive-spirited firm that spun-off from a large firm less than 3 years ago, in an active growth mode and with a long runway ahead. We welcome colleagues who work hard and get results, who understand reporting and insurer billing, are good with people (trial experience is valued but not required as long as there is a willingness to be developed into that role). The position is full-time and hybrid, and it will involve management of lawsuits involving catastrophic damages (with high limit insurance and significant self-insured exposure). The firm is also busy with cases involving NY Labor Law, premises liability, municipal liability, product liability and insurance coverage. This role is located in Lower Manhattan, with flexibility for most days remote (excepting court appearances and other necessary or requested attendance).

Qualifications

• Strong background in litigation of automobile or truck accident litigation (or New York Labor Law) with a focus on defense of damages and working with experts to limit claims involving excessive treatment or challenges to medical causation
• Experience in handling motions, appearing in court and conducting depositions
• Responsible for the preparation, exchange and review of discovery, including medical records
• Interview clients and witnesses, factual investigation of allegations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• You are passionate about winning and care about the results you deliver to clients
• Understanding of insurer billing and reporting requirements
• Admission to the New York bar
