Purpose of Position :
Assists with library operations serving students, faculty, staff, and community users under the direction of the campus librarian or
Director of Library Services.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Greeting library users, answering their questions, and helping them with library services and resources.
- Assisting students with the online catalog, databases, and web searches shelving books, periodicals, and reserve materials
using Library of Congress classification or other system.
Assisting at the Circulation Desk, including checking-out books, headphones, DVDs, etc.Assisting users with the copier.Recording statistical information about interactions with users and headcounts.Referring users to a library assistant, librarian, or library director as appropriate.Complete special projects as assigned.Approximate Start Date : Oct, 13, 2025

Pay Rate : $15.00 per hour
General Qualifications :
Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need.Be able to communicate well orally and work well with diverse student populationsMaintain a minimum of 6 credit hours of enrollment in eligible coursesMaintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) statusStudent must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater.Projects positive image for Ivy Tech Community College.Display a professional appearance and demeanor.Demonstrate strong ability to communicate effectively and efficiently verbally and electronically.Must exhibit excellent interpersonal communication, telephone, confidentiality, and customer service skillsMicrosoft Office skills including; Word and Excel.Knowledge of how to use College online systems (IvyLearn, MyIvy, etc.)Bilingual Spanish-English preferred.Performs other duties as assigned.Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
