RedHat OpenShift Engineer (Cloud Engineer)

The
Cloud Systems Engineer
is responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing / improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; providing customers technical support. The
Cloud Engineer
will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.
An active Top-Secret Clearance is required
Specific Duties and Responsibilities :
- Build and Maintain Platform as a Service Offering using RedHat OpenShift
- Work with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systems
- Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies / authentication / search, etc)
- Produce detailed documentation
- Maintain System in AWS environment using EC2, S3, ELB, and RDS
- Maintain System in a VMware vSphere environment, using NSX, and NetApp StorageGRID
- Automate and optimize service deployments
Education / Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work / military experience3+ years IT experience3+ years experience with Platform as a Service Offerings (e.g. RedHat OpenShift, Tanzu, etc)Required Skills :
Prior experience building and maintaining Platform as a Service offerings via Cloud based providersStrong understanding of RHEL / CentOS Linux distributionsStrong understanding of RedHat OpenShift and / or other Kubernetes distributionsExperience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker)Strong knowledge of Amazon Web ServicesStrong Troubleshooting skillsExperience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or PerlFamiliarity with Agile / Scrum methodologyFamiliarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools : GitLab, Jenkins, NexusStrong communication skillsDesired Skills :
Experience administering production RedHat OpenShift clustersStrong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS / CLIExposure to Infrastructure as Code such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt or TerraformExperience working with one or more Python, Ruby, or JavaExperience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare)Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal developmentCertifications :
