Linux Systems Engineer Location :

  • This person will  manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure.
  • This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of servers across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required.
  • This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape.

Primary Duties Include but Are Not Limited To :

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE) and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, apply patches, and enforce security standards.

  • Automate processes using Bash, Python, or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Manage virtualization and cloud environments (VMware, KVM, AWS, Azure, OCI).
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, generate reports, and support audits or compliance initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on infrastructure projects.
  • Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree 3+ years of experience  An ability to work independently, multi-task, and communicate effectively will be required for this role.  US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance Expertise in networking, security, virtualization, and cloud technologies Strong experience with automation / configuration management tools and scripting Cloudshape is committed to employee growth through learning, training, advancement, and rewards.
