Substation Communications Engineer
Insight Global's client is looking for a Substation Communications Engineer to sit remotely and commute to Chattanooga, TN twice a month.
They will be responsible for designing communications for various high-voltage substations. The communication systems that they'll design include - RF systems, Microwave systems, ICO (input-output controllers), digital inputs, digital protection units (DPU), SCADA, GPS timing, WAN, LAN, fiber optic cables, etc.
They'll be responsible for collecting various data from the systems including analog data and real-time data. Additionally, they'll assist in the design of One-Line Diagrams, AC & DC Schematics, Panel Layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Cable Lists, etc.
- Experience with substation communications.
- EIT or PE
- Ability to relocate to Chattanooga, TN.
- B. S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience designing substation communications
- Experience designing RF systems, Microwave systems, ICO (input-output controllers), digital inputs, digital protection units (DPU), SCADA, GPS timing, etc.
