Position Overview

Provide technical leadership and design of electrical controls and PLC programming of a diverse range of custom automated systems. The systems include electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and measurement components such as :

PLC and ladder logic programming
Human-machine interface (HMI) and programming
AC motor controls (contactors, variable speed drives)
Hydraulic and pneumatic components
Electro-mechanical components
Pressure Transducers, Temperature Transmitters, Flow Meters, Level Sensors, Encoders
Proximity sensors, Relays, Pushbuttons
Machine Safety components : Safety Controllers, Light Curtains, Scanners, Guard Door Switches

Responsibilities & Required Skills

Design electrical control systems for custom machines, with experience in PLC and HMI programming (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)

Lead and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Develop control concepts to meet customer requirements and prepare quotations

Estimate costs related to design, programming, hardware, and commissioning

Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or SOLIDWORKS Electrical; experience with SOLIDWORKS Electrical preferred

Collaborate with project teams and clients to review and refine designs

Support during design and build phases, providing technical guidance and problem-solving

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Ability to follow directions from project managers and communicate effectively

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

Experience

At least 8 years in electrical controls design for custom systems

At least 5 years in PLC programming

Hydraulics knowledge and wire harness design experience are preferred

Familiarity with CE and UKCA requirements is a plus
