Position description

Applications are being sought for the Project Scientist Series from Ph.D. or M.D. / Ph.D. candidates (Assistant, Associate, or Full Rank) or equivalent experience with strong laboratory research backgrounds, publications & and specialized training. Openings are anticipated between July 14, 2025 & June 30, 2026 in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of California, Irvine.

Initial appointments are for one year & renewal is based on available support. Current faculty & research interests are :

J. Chan : Liver development / function, oxidative stress response, and cancer

L. de la Maza : Chlamydia trachomatis; immunopathology and vaccine development

D. Mercola : Promoter binding and activation profiles of cancer

E. Monuki : Brain development

E. Head : Brain Aging and Alzheimer's Disease

A. La Spada : Mechanisms of Neurodegenerative Disease / Neurotherapeutics

J. Lipkova : Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. https : / / octopath.org /

M. Rose : Neuronal Diversity, Omics, and Imaging in Brain Development and Disease

H. Park : Breast cancer, epigenetics, environmental exposures, and biomarkers

F. Rahmatpanah : Prostate cancer disparities, Ovarian cancer, Epigenetics, Human endogenous retroviruses in cancer

H. Mkhikian : Glycoimmunology in health, autoimmunity, and immune senescence; glycoproteomics and cross-linking mass spectrometry

P. Shah : Computational Medicine

A. Qavi : Conventional diagnostics through new optical technologies
