About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years full labor and delivery experience

License : Active nursing license required

Certifications : ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRPS

Must-Have :

• Full experience in labor and delivery, and postpartum
• Epic experience preferred
• Minimum of every other or 8 weekend shifts required
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Description :

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care in a labor and delivery setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries and providing postpartum care.

The nurse will also participate in various procedures and will be expected to have knowledge of multiple medical situations and protocols.

Candidates should be skilled in patient assessment and management during childbirth, including complications such as pre-eclampsia, hemorrhage, and more.

The nurse will be responsible for recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.

They will also provide support for breastfeeding and lactation.

The scope of practice includes both labor and delivery, postpartum, well baby care, and transitions.

Candidates should have experience with charting systems, preferably with Epic.

Willingness to assist in other areas as needed is required.

This is a high-risk unit that involves handling complex patient needs.

The nurse should be equipped to manage a variety of clinical situations, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Emergency protocols, patient safety, and adherence to staffing standards are essential aspects of the role.

The work environment includes caring for healthy to acutely ill childbearing individuals.

Qualifications include a thorough understanding of maternal and neonatal care protocols.

The nurse must be prepared for the challenges of a fast-paced unit requiring critical thinking and adaptability.
