The role
A leading international hospitality group is opening a flagship venue in Los Angeles and is seeking a hands-on Bar Manager to build a best-in-class beverage program, develop the team, and deliver standout guest experiences from pre-opening through steady state.What you'll do
Own the beverage program end-to-end : category strategy, supplier partnerships, costing, and menu engineeringCreate and roll out seasonal cocktail menus and high-margin features aligned to the conceptLead daily bar service to brand standards across bar counter and floor; be a visible presence on shiftRecruit, train, coach, and schedule a high-performing team; deliver ongoing product & service trainingManage beverage COGS, inventory, pars, and purchasing with tight controls and accurate reportingPartner with FOH / BOH on service flow, prep, and mise en place to meet demand forecastsEnsure compliance with health codes and company SOPs; uphold immaculate bar hygiene and maintenanceCollaborate with Marketing / Events on promotions and programming that drive revenue while protecting guest mixMonitor KPIs (COGS, labor, sales mix, voids / complaints), share weekly insights, and action improvementsWhat we're looking for
4–6+ years' bar leadership (Bar Manager or senior bar lead / AGM with bar ownership) in high-volume, design-led restaurants / bars / nightlifeProven track record creating profitable menus and hitting COGS / labor targets; confident with P&L basicsStrong people leader : hires well, sets standards, gives clear feedback, and builds cultureSystems-literate (common POS & inventory platforms); organised with excellent communicationCalm under pressure, solutions-driven, and comfortable working evenings / weekends / holidaysValid California Food Handler Card and RBS / ABC certification (or willingness to obtain); authorised to work in the U.SSeniorities
