The Production Engineer will identify line priorities and address issues with the goal of meeting production targets. This role requires skilled data analysis and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams and operators to develop and implement solutions.
Responsibilities
- Address quality reports and events promptly to meet production targets.
- Create accurate reports about events and follow up to ensure issues are resolved.
- Communicate with team and other departments to review activity during other shifts.
- Identify line priorities, problems (downtime, equipment issues), and risk range (extent of product affected) at each shift start.
- Develop long-term improvement projects to address recurring quality issues.
- Teach and mentor other engineers, delegating tasks when appropriate.
- Collaborate with team members and departments to solve problems.
- Track production, identify highest fallout causes, and report / address them.
- Coordinate with local and international vendors and the purchasing department for equipment repairs and replacements.
- Report repair costs using the monthly EA form.
- Train production team members on new equipment or procedures.
- Create process flow diagrams for handling procedures.
- Send out quality alerts.
- Present problems and solutions to the president and plant manager in weekly meetings.
- Participate in Green Belt initiatives : lead cost-saving projects, track data, take courses, and present reports.
- Maintain cleanliness at the work site according to 5S R3 Standards : Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
