Qualifications
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Prior experience at a high school level, preferred
- This position includes a Schedule B - Group I stipend.

Assistant Principal for Student Services of the building assigned
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Exhibit effective communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
- Assist in scheduling of all school facilities.
- Provide assistance in planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising assemblies, rallies, dances, club activities, field trips, and activity buses.
- Supervise the campaign, election, and appointment of class and student government officers.
- Establish and maintain the school's social fundraising and activity calendar.
- Serve as a liaison between school and community for student activities.
- Supervise the sale of tickets, etc., during the school day for student body sponsored events.
- Arrange and maintain assembly / rally and convo schedules. Assist in arranging for equipment, facilities, and agendas for assemblies and rallies.
- Assist club advisors and members with the technical aspects of their obligations, i.e., budgets, constitutions, financial procedures;
offer assistance in planning their activities.
- Conduct regular meetings with club and activity sponsors to support their events and goals.
- Supervision of activity related events outside the school day (Schedule B stipend included).
- Attend Conference related meetings as Activity Director.
- Maintain required forms for each activity / sponsor (as noted in the Student Activity Funds & Convenience Funds Handbook).
- Ensure sponsors submit student enrollment / participation for PowerSchool extracurricular data entry.
- Oversee the activities fundraising process and paperwork.
- Submit and manage appropriate HR paperwork for each stipend position.
- Provide orientation, direction, and training of new sponsors.
- Maintains the highest level of ethical and professional demeanor with students and staff consistent with the Sexual Harassment, Equal Educational Opportunity, Ethics, Use of Electronic Media, and other appropriate policies of the District.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policy.
- Does not administer corporal punishment or touch students.
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media.
- Ability to write professional communications.
- Ability to present information effectively and to respond to questions from individuals and groups
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community members
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form
- Ability to complete mathematical operations and apply concepts of basic mathematics
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to maintain current job skills as directed, especially in technology-related activities
- Ability to perform essential duties with an awareness of school district requirements and School Board policies

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, the ability to withstand long-term use of video display terminals (VDT) is required.
- The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds such as reference books.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The pace of work tasks would be considered as fast.
- Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
