Hillsborough YMCA is seeking a Community Safety / Lifeguard Instructor to teach the American Red Cross lifeguarding course to our community members and staff. Our lifeguard instructors help participants to achieve their goals in feeling confident with lifeguarding and life-saving skills.

Hours : Varies based upon number of class offerings

Requirements : POSITION SUMMARY :

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Teaches potential lifeguards to the Red Cross standard and evaluate to the objectives of each rescue and CPR. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Essential Functions :

• You will teach the following classes :
• Lifeguard training (full classes)
• Lifeguard review
• Oxygen (not mandatory)
• CPR / AED and First Aid
