Job Description
Job Description
A day in this role
You arrive on the floor with a Safety-First mindset and set the tone by modeling the behaviors you expect : proper PPE, clear communication, and hazard awareness. You huddle with the Director of Manufacturing to align on the weekly plan to boost line performance, close gaps, and meet business targets. As lines ramp up, you champion Quality, preparing teams for audits (SQF, USDA, FDA, Organic, and customer) and ensuring nothing compromises product integrity.
Throughout the shift, you coordinate across multiple teams and shifts, ensure assets are maintained, and keep a close eye on line costs—auditing spend and executing plans to return to budget. When a chronic issue surfaces, you lead Root Cause Analysis, assign corrective actions, and track progress. You partner with R&D and QA to run new product trials, collaborate with Maintenance to schedule setups and repairs through the maintenance system, and approve timecards and PTO requests promptly via timekeeping software.
You coach team members, drive cross-training and internal transfers, and build a positive workplace centered on safety, housekeeping, and strong human relations. In any facility emergency, you take command, assess risk, and escalate appropriately. You uphold federal, state, and local regulations along with corporate and site policies, while reinforcing GMP, Food Safety, and Plant Safety at every step. Other duties may be assigned by Management as needed.
