Base Annual Salary Range : $53,851.68 $79,943.04 per year. This range is provided by City of Hendersonville. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. Talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Base pay : $49,794.96 $77,527.20 per year.
Entry level BASE pay for an Uncertified Police Officer will be $53,851.68 annually. Pay is adjusted to $56,577.84 once Uncertified Police Officers become POST Certified. We offer various supplemental pays in addition to base pay including Associates (added 2.5% to base) and Bachelors (added 5% to base) Degrees.
There is a $2,000 bonus if you are hired as a Certified Police Officer. This is only paid upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period which is typically one (1) year of consecutive full-time employment. If the employee terminates within three (3) years, this bonus must be paid back per the contract signed upon employment.
Shift Differentials : $0.27, $0.30, and $0.40 per hour; HEAT Pay : $35 per month; Negotiator : $35 per month; Motorcycle, Bicycle, K-9, Mounted Patrol : $65 per month. Certified Police Officers who are EMT licensed receive an additional $125 per month and Paramedics receive an additional $300 per month.
Special, one-time $2,500 bonus for employees who speak Spanish and English fluently. To qualify, Police employees must have successfully completed their probationary period and pass an independent review administered by a panel of three bilingual representatives of the Hispanic community.
Benefits
Lateral Transfers
If hired by the Hendersonville Police Department as a TN POST certified officer from another agency, your starting annual BASE pay will be $55,197.84. You will also be eligible to receive the $2,000 sign-on bonus upon successful completion of a probationary period generally one (1) year of continuous full-time employment.
Post Certified applicants may receive waivers for the written exam and physical agility testing requirements based on their certification status. TN POST Certified officers from another jurisdiction may be re-instated or required to attend transition school depending on the length of inactivity.
Testing Process
Testing will take place once per quarter on an as-needed basis. The exam provider offers candidate preparation materials online. The cost for the practice test is $15.00 and the study guide is $5.00. Detailed feedback is provided for any item answered incorrectly.
