It is family owned, offers great benefits, and the most competitive employee compensation packages in this field. We are searching for a Pipelayer with a minimum of three years of experience.
Candidates with less experience will be accepted if they are hard-working and willing to learn new skills. Metro Construction’s goal is to have all employees home with their family each night.
Most job sites are located within 30 miles of Sioux Falls giving our employees the ability of going home every night.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Set proper grades and elevations
- Install water, storm-water, sewer structures, and pipe systems
- Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors
- Highest expectation of quality work
- Ability to take direction and provide support to peers
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality production
- Visually inspect work areas so the work can be efficiently and safely completed
- Maintain dependability and responsibility to be at work on time
Basic Qualifications
- General knowledge of underground utility work including materials, methods, and tools involved in the installation
- Be able to enter and exit pick-ups on jobsites and on highways in a safe manner
- Ability to follow procedures with strong attention to detail
- Ability to repetitively lift and carry at least 60 lbs. on a consistent basis
- Be able to walk, bend, twist, and maintain sure footedness on sometimes uneven or unstable ground
- Ability to work extended hours during the construction season
