The Purchasing Project Specialist role will play a key role in Product Development by serving as Specialist : leading kickoff meetings, assigning cross-departmental action items, and driving projects to completion. The Purchasing Project Specialist will also lead the organization, calculation, and tracking of rebate payments, as well as manage Energy Star certificate tracking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead Product Development projects by coordinating kickoff meetings, assigning responsibilities across departments, and ensuring timely completion.
- Manage vendor and product improvements, changes, and special projects.
- Communicate with construction personnel regarding vendor and product issues; collaborate with vendors to resolve disputes and field-related problems in a timely manner.
- Review pricing for accuracy.
- Identify and evaluate new contractors and vendors in the marketplace.
- Organize, calculate, and track rebate payments and Energy Star certifications.
- Assist with additional responsibilities as needed, including :
- Annual contract and addendum updates.
- Purchasing-related changes in collaboration with Estimating.
- Field studies to verify subcontractor and vendor compliance.
- Competitive market studies.
- Preparation of memoranda on policy and material changes.
- Review of marketing materials such as Subdivision Feature Sheets and Homeowners Manuals.
- Participation in department-wide projects and general support activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business or a Construction related field.Preferred 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, operations or estimating.Communicates effectively with vendors, internal employees, and customers (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of estimating and purchasing principles as well as residential construction practices and materials.Must be able to read blueprints.Effective negotiating skills.Availability to travel as needed in Texas and Florida market.Demonstrated computer skills to include experience with Microsoft Office and Excel.Current, valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.Benefits
