Towne Insurance is hiring a Commercial Lines Risk Advisor to join our Raleigh, NC team. This is a sales-oriented position requiring excellent communication skills, thorough knowledge of insurance products offered by our agency, and a proven ability to pursue and close sales through leads provided by bank personnel and personal relationships.

About the Role

  • Contact leads promptly
  • Gather information from clients and sources to determine suitable insurance options
  • Complete applications such as "Acord" or company-specific forms
  • Obtain quotes or assist marketing in obtaining quotes from underwriters
  • Present proposals to clients
  • Ensure policies are bound with insurance companies prior to or on the policy effective date
  • Assist with financing options and payment plans
  • Verify accuracy of new business policies
  • Follow up with clients for outstanding balances and maintain current account balances
  • Coordinate with customer service to handle renewals, endorsements, audits, cancellations, claims, and other requests accurately and promptly
  • Maintain an active P & C license and pursue continuing education
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Perform additional duties as needed
  • Comply with all applicable laws, including AML and BSA regulations

Skills and Experience Needed

  • Current P & C license
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of insurance forms and operations
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • CIC or CPCU designation
  • Existing relationships within insurance companies and industry networks
  • Strong community involvement and interests related to insurance
  • Ability to develop new markets and build underwriter rapport
