Director, AI Product

We are seeking a proven and visionary Director of Engineering, AI Products to lead our engineering efforts for emerging AI products. This is a critical leadership role responsible for building the technical foundation for identity and security for AI agents. You will lead a high‑performing engineering organization, working closely with product management and business leaders to bring innovative identity solutions to market.

What you will be doing :

• Engineering Leadership & Strategy : Define the long‑term technical vision and strategy for our AI‑focused engineering teams. Drive the architectural and technical decisions necessary to build scalable, secure, and reliable solutions for the AI and agentic ecosystem.
• Team Management & Development : Lead and mentor a team of talented software engineers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure the team has the skills and resources to execute on the product roadmap.
• Execution & Delivery : Oversee the end‑to‑end development lifecycle, from system design and coding to deployment and maintenance. Work closely with product managers to translate a compelling roadmap into a detailed and actionable engineering plan.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Partner with product management, design, and other engineering teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful product launches. You will serve as the technical authority on how we bring identity solutions to the AI world.
• Technical Excellence : Drive best practices for code quality, security, and performance. Ensure the team is building robust and maintainable systems.
• Thought Leadership : Represent the company as a subject matter expert in the intersection of identity, security, and AI, both internally and externally. Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and its implications for security and authentication.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual base salary will range from $266,000 to $398,000 USD for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave).
